The key to Obama thinking - Symbols

When one is forced to listen to the speeches of our Dear Leader, I believe there is something we on the more conservative side of the table miss, and it is that of symbols and the symbolic. We prefer and expect direct line of sight thinking. Something like: this is what I believe and this is how to do it. This kind of thinking infuriates the more educated and elite higher thinking educators and professors of the failed New Left-ormation. They prefer to think in symbols and symbolic actions. They prefer to deal with reality as if it were a "continuing, unfolding narrative, a conversation, if you will." Is anybody else tired of the term "conversation"? By which they do not mean discussion or dialogue, but rather indoctrination. Because when you finally see the bigger picture as they do, THEN you can have a "conversation." Get it? You have to remember that these were the ones who smoked pot and taught their kids to sing "Puff, The Magic Dragon." These are the people who symbolically blew up buildings in the sixties. These are the ones who symbolically "changed the world" by wallowing in the mud and blood and puke of Woodstock. We need to open our closed minds to the "signs of the times."
I realized this importance of the symbolic in rhetoric when I saw the Beneficent One walking upon our great shores of our beautiful Gulf Coast, acting as concerned as he could, and yet with Buddha-like detachment, poking at little tar balls on a beach while listening intently to some "expert" tell him what was going on. You see, I realized at that moment that we have misunderstood the point of this endeavor. For Obama, the whole thing was a symbol. He sees even himself as a symbol. So there was the symbol of a President, standing on a symbol of a catastrophic environmental disaster listening carefully to a symbol of an expert. The only thing missing was the that expert did not wear a white coat. They really missed it on that one. This symbolic action was staged to let us know that our Government was looking out for our interests and really, really cares about us. Otherwise, why would Obama be out there picking at tar balls?
So now picture a symbol Obama going all over the world apologizing as a symbol of reaching out to the rest of the truly civilized countries who have finally come to the table to reason together in a spirit of brotherhood. Hey wait a minute? This sounds familiar. Hmmm...
