Ah, yes, I love the smell of schadenfreude in the morning!

schadenfreude: Malicious enjoyment derived from observing someone else's misfortune.
I'll admit this freely and without any guilt whatsoever; I really enjoyed soon-to-be-former Senator Arlen Specter's concession speech last night. I watched it again on YouTube just to savor the flavor of his total defeat one more time. Did you feel that shift in the Force? That was things realigning back to proper balance after Specter left a huge black hole in the moral fabric of space-time when he left everything and everyone he had worked with for thirty years for a possibility of one more re-election. In the mean time we will have to deal with the devastation this deal he made with the dark forces has created. He switched sides and helped Obama to saddle the American people with a debt and bureaucracy that will destroy the future of the next generations. Instead of seeing that his time was up and just bowing out gracefully, he made the last year of his tenure in the Senate the most memorable, as the latest and most clear example of a narcissistic politician gone mad with self obsession. He chose being used as a dupe and fool for Obama to get his agenda through the Senate and the memory of another person who can be a charter member of the "I Was Thrown Under The Obama Bus" Club, instead of having a time of being appreciated for thirty years of service to his country and "former" party. Look for him to be another loser on a CNN, MSNBC or Fox panel of blowhard guests. Expect his book to come out saying how terrible he feels at being bamboozled by that wily Barak Obama. Good riddance and may godspeed on your way to the ash heap of history. For those of us who still have a soul, may we remember that there, but for the grace of God...
