Regrets, he has a few

CNN is reporting that the Portland police are reopening the sexual assaault investigation on Al Gore. The power of the internet! (and The National Enquirer) Come to think of it, I'll bet Al is regretting the fact that he ever invented the internet in the first place.

Obama and Kagan: supporters of partial birth abortion

Have any of the senators asked Elena Kagan about her support for partial birth abortion (which Obama also supported as an Illinois state senator}? Joan of Arrgh raises the issue in no uncertain terms.

One of a President's most lasting legacies: appointments to the Supreme Court

Mr. McDonald wins! Only in America could the persistence of one citizen come to fruition as in this Chicago case. In a 5-4 decision (which, as Elena Kagan says in refusing to say where she stands, could come back before the Supreme Court again), the Supreme Court held that the second amendment (an individual's right to defend himself) does apply in Chicago, in Illinois, and in every city and state in the U.S.

Where are the gains and losses in jobs?

These graphs answer the question.

Obama weakening our national defense?

Yesterday the New York Times reported that the Obama administration is proposing a new space policy that would focus on international cooperation, rather than the Bush policy of national security. The Michael Ramirez cartoon below seems right on. The anti-missile interceptor was launched this morning. The Army is seven for seven in hitting their target.

Where is that candidate?

I wonder if rank and file members of labor unions are aware of the fact that their union leaders are pushing for amnesty for illegals. Do they not realize that illegals are competing with them for the same jobs? I'll bet they do realize it, and if the right candidate came along (is Ronald Reagan available?), they would vote for that candidate, in spite of what their union leaders tell them to do.

Who will provide the intellectual leadership we need?

Iowahawk, writing as T. Coddington Van Voorhies VII, "intellectual conservative at large," is beginning to "believe this Obama fellow is unequal to the task." Further, he asks whom we should look to for leadership, "the blind pig (tea partiers) who occasionally stumbles on a truffle," or elite columnists like himself, the gifted (if fashionably late) Cordon Bleu-trained chef who knows how to whip it into an intoxicating soup."

Nothing crazy here!

Al Gore allegedly brought the hand of the masseuse down to his pubic area, touching his penis, and asked the masseuse to release his second chakra. I was unfamiliar with the concept of chakra, let alone the second one. Perhaps you are, too. I checked with Wikipedia, and found that no autopsies have ever revealed the existence of a chakra. Nevertheless, some people who believe in man-made global warming are convinced it is there.

The second chakra (believers say there are seven altogether) is said to be located in the coccyx, the last bone in the spinal column, and is called the Sacral Chakra, or the Swadhisthana.

This post is an example of why we have the name "Service" in the name of our blog.

Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of University Control Of Leadership In Christian Groups

ALLIANCE DEFENSE FUND / CHRISTIAN LEGAL SOCIETY NEWS RELEASE
June 28, 2010 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT ADF MEDIA RELATIONS:  (480) 444-0020 or www.adfmedia.org/home/contact

Supreme Court: Calif. university’s policy upheld,
but school still barred from targeting Christian group

CLS, ADF attorneys:  Conflict continues between First Amendment
and nondiscrimination policies

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5–4 Monday to uphold an unusual
university policy that forces student groups to allow outsiders who disagree with their beliefs to
become leaders and voting members.  The court confined its opinion to the unique policy and did
not address whether nondiscrimination policies in general, which are typical on public university
campuses, may require this.   The court concluded that public universities may override a
religious student group’s right to determine its leadership only if it denies that right to all student
groups.

Attorneys with the Christian Legal Society and Alliance Defense Fund represented a student
chapter of CLS at California’s Hastings College of the Law in the lawsuit, Christian Legal
Society v. Martinez.  The suit was filed in 2004 after the law school refused to recognize the
chapter because the group requires all of its officers and voting members to agree with its basic
Christian beliefs.

“All college students, including religious students, should have the right to form groups around
shared beliefs without being banished from campus,” said Kim Colby, senior counsel at the CLS
Center for Law & Religious Freedom.  “Today’s ruling, however, will have limited impact.  We
are not aware of any other public university that has the exact same policy as Hastings.”

“The conflict still exists.  This decision doesn’t settle the core constitutional issue of whether
nondiscrimination policies in general can force religious student groups to allow non-believers to
lead their groups,” explained ADF Senior Legal Counsel Gregory S. Baylor.  “Long-term, the
decision puts other student groups across the country at risk, and we will continue to fight for
their constitutional rights.  The Hastings policy actually requires CLS to allow atheists to lead its
Bible studies and the College Democrats to accept the election of Republican officers in order
for the groups to be recognized on campus.  We agree with Justice Alito in his dissent that the
court should have rejected this as absurd.”

The law school’s acting dean went so far as to state in a PBS interview in April that a black
student organization must admit white supremacists.

“We believe we will ultimately prevail in this case,” McConnell said.  “The record will show that
Hastings law school applied its policy in a discriminatory way--excluding CLS from campus but
not other groups who limit leadership and voting membership in a similar way.  The Supreme
Court did not rule that public universities can apply different rules to religious groups than they
apply to political, cultural, or other student groups.”

In his dissent, Justice Samuel Alito wrote, “Brushing aside inconvenient precedent, the Court
arms public educational institutions with a handy weapon for suppressing the speech of
unpopular groups….  I can only hope that this decision will turn out to be an aberration.”

Twenty-two friend-of-the-court briefs from a broad and diverse array of nearly 100 parties were
filed with the Supreme Court in support of the CLS chapter, including a brief filed by 14 state
attorneys general.  Lead counsel Michael W. McConnell, director of the Constitutional Law
Center at Stanford Law School and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, argued before the
court on April 19 on behalf of the CLS chapter.

Obama Chooses Bush Team To Lead In Afghanistan - Doh!!!

Kagan "Not Kosher"

Monday will be the beginning of the Senate judiciary hearings on Obama nominee for the Supreme Court, Elena Kagan. 850 members of the Rabbinical Alliance of America have announced that even though Kagan is Jewish, they take no pride in her nomination, and, in fact, believe that she will hasten society's already steep decline into Sodom and Gomorrah.”

You heard it here first, folks!

Just wanting to poke a little fun at Victor Davis Hanson for being Johnny-come-lately to the classical notion of Nemesis with regard to Obama, which I wrote of on June 16th, entitled From Hubris to Nemesis . Of course, he is the true classicist and uses many of the same themes I wrote on and expands on them. Here is his quote:

Do you remember candidate Barack Obama offering his hope-and-change platitudes in front of the fake Greek columns during the Democratic convention? Or, earlier, pontificating at the Victory Monument in Berlin?
Why didn’t an old cigar-chomping Democratic pro take him aside and warn him about offending Nemesis? She is the dreaded goddess who brings divine retribution in ironic fashion to overweening arrogance.

Excellent idea. Wish I had thought of it first. Oh, wait. I did! Well, at least this time, anyway. Hanson's article is awesome. Go read it! Right now!

An "unpredictable predator"

I have just listened to the audio of Al Gore's accuser. Every voter in America should listen to it in full. She was "shocked at his craziness," calling him an "unpredictable predator" who "tried every angle." She was "sickened," and "in very deep shock." She "wants this man stopped," because she intuitively knows "I'm not the first" person he has done this to. She wants "justice," and she hopes that by her courage in coming forward, that "the others will become brave enough to come forward." I hope she has many more opportunities to tell what happened, and I thank the Portland police for releasing the audio tape, even though I wish they would have had the courage to charge this monster with the crime of sexual assault.

An Obama Endnote - Victor Davis Hanson

One consideration helping Obama is that he does not have a Senator Obama in the Senate planning to run for the presidency by rejecting any notion of common purposein Afghanistan and demagoguing both the surge and Gen. Petraeuss efforts. (He sermonized, for example, during the Iraq surge hearings and did not even ask a single question.) Once again, how eerie to see Obama playing the role of President Bush to the doubting likes of a Senator Obama—reminiscent of the once-bad Guantanamo, tribunals, renditions, Predators, wiretaps, intercepts, and Iraq all suddenly becoming absolutely necessary, all predicated on whether one is running for office and wanting the powers that be to look bad—or being in office and vested in wanting the powers that be to look good. (from National Review online)

Mark Steyn - Obama... Who Is This Guy?

To return to Cohen’s question: “Who is this guy? What are his core beliefs?” Well, he’s a guy who was wafted ever upward from theHarvard Law Review to state legislator to United States senator without ever lingering long enough to accomplish anything. “Who is this guy?” Well, when a guy becomes a credible presidential candidate by his mid-forties with no accomplishments other than a couple of memoirs, he evidently has an extraordinary talent for self-promotion, if nothing else. “What are his core beliefs?” It would seem likely that his core belief is in himself. It’s the “nothing else” that the likes of Cohen are belatedly noticing. (from National Review Online)

He didn't win, but, yes, I wish I had him watching my back.

"Reproductive justice"

It is not news that liberals favor "reproductive justice," a concept whereby children are told by educators that their body is their own, and no one has the right to tell them what they can or cannot do with their bodies. In my last job as a social services director I worked in a county where condoms were distributed in the school, and parents were not told about it when the nurse handed them out. I objected and expressed my opinion that children should be told not to have sex with anyone until they are ready to make a lifetime commitment to that person. I was told that "kids are going to do it anyway, and they should have protection" and I was looked upon as a neanderthal. This school district in Massachusetts would be in agreement with those who thought I was a neanderthal.

No place for the border patrol? How about the police? Well, maybe...

Don't ask, and I won't tell you about Elena Kagan's apparent inconsistency when it comes to protecting gay rights

Is the effort to get rid of "Don't ask, don't tell" really the "Bring back the draft act"? Frank Gaffney explores issues of "the impact of repeal [of the law] on morale, discipline, unit cohesion and overall military readiness" here.

In another related article here at Town Hall, Gaffney writes that Senate Judiciary member Jeff Sessions plans to ask Obama's Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan about her failure to oppose efforts to bring Shariah law to America. How is that related to "Don't ask, don't tell"? On the one hand Kagan appears to have been a supporter of "gay rights" when she led the effort to keep military recruiters off the Harvard campus, but she did not lift a finger to oppose Harvard's acceptance of $20,000,000 from the Saudi royal family to establish a center for the study of Islam and Shariah law. Shariah law, of course, advocates the death or flogging of homosexuals.

Brazil, Iran, Venezuela, and Turkey

I have written about anti-American George Soros investing 900 million dollars in Brazil's state-owned oil company, and Soros being backed by a loan offer from no less that Barack Obama. But what about these two characters? What do they have in common, other than unshaven faces? Is Brazil becoming a dwindling friend, or an actual enemy of the United States? And what about Turkey, a nation once thought to be our friend? Nicle Ferrand explores these issues and more here.

Traumatic Brain Injury

Arnold Fisher is a New Yorker who has raised money to enable the opening of a Defense Department research facility in Bethesda, Maryland to "remove the profound veil" surrounding traumatic brain injuries and other afflictions suffered by many who served In the Iraqi war. Nobody from Congress or the White House attended the opening ceremonies yesterday. Fisher asked, "Where are they?"

I know a gentleman here in Colorado who suffers from traumatic brain injury as a result of his military service. He was incorrectly diagnosed as bi-polar, and is fighting in federal court to correct the misdiagnosis. Please wish him well. He is representing himself.

Why is it the forgotten war?

This is one of the most famous pictures on the internet. Kim Jong-il has his lights on, but the rest of the country is without electricity. Sixty years ago today 90,000 North Korean troops, backed by Soviet communist tanks, invaded South Korea. It is called America's Forgotten War. Why have we forgotten? America had no reason to fight there, except Harry Truman was determined to prevent the enslavement of the people in South Korea. He remembered Mussolini and Hitler. It is a great shame that we have forgotten the many thousands of Americans who fought to protect the freedom of the people of South Korea.

"Unwanted sexual contact"

Here is the police report on Al Gore's alleged "unwanted sexual contact" with a masseuse at an "upscale" Portland hotel.

"The world owes me a livin"

Please stay tuned until the end of this post, as there is a surprise ending.

Government regulators knew about cracks in the well!

According to Bloomberg News, BP filed a report with the Interior Department in February, two months before the fatal explosion, that there were cracks in the well! "Cracks in the surrounding rock continued to complicate the drilling operation during the ensuing weeks. Left unsealed, they can allow explosive natural gas to rush up the shaft."

What changed?

Rush Limbaugh wants the "drive-by media" to post this headline: Obama turns to Bush's general. It's true, folks, Petraeus was the general Bush appointed to run the Iraq war. Rush also reminds us that the New York Times gave MoveOn.org half-price on their General Betrayus ad. Rush further reminds us of Hillary Clinton's statement to General Petraeus that his testimony requires the "willing suspension of disbelief." href="">">

An "out of control, sex-charged poodle"

People magaizine reports that "An Oregon masseuse filed a complaint last year accusing Al Gore of sexual abuse following a nearly three-hour massage session at an upscale Portland hotel in 2006, reports the Portland Oregonian." "The alleged incident took place at the Hotel Lucia Oct. 24, after the masseuse, 54, was called by the hotel to administer a late night massage to a "VIP" client, who was later identified as Gore, 62, the former U.S. Vice President, senator from Tennessee and Nobel Prize-winning advocate for the environment."

The unidentified woman, who has been a masseuse for 12 years, filed the accusations Jan. 8, 2009, alleging Gore, who checked into the hotel as Mr. Stone and was 30 minutes late for his 10:30 p.m. in-room appointment, sexually assaulted her in his hotel room by forcing repeated, unwanted sexual touches.

"He pleaded, groped me, grabbed me, engulfed me in embrace, tongue kissed me, massaged me, grabbed my breasts," the woman says in her detailed complaint to Portland police officers and posted by the Fox 12 Oregon TV station.

At one point, she says Gore pinned her down, resulting in an injury to her left leg and knee, and which required medical care for several months.

Gore, she says, was so persistent that she called him a "sex-crazed poodle" for being "out of control." The writer of this blog post has owned several poodles, and is offended by this characterization of the breed. I have never had a poodle who acted this way.

"The woman, who says she notified two friends following Gore's alleged groping, also saved the black pants she wore after discovering stains following the session. Since the alleged incident, the masseuse says she has been traumatized, has trouble sleeping at night, and that her work has been "more stressful and frightening since the incident." She is also seeing a specialized counselor."

Oh, and one more thing: if this was reported by the masseuse one and one-half years ago to the Portland police, why has it just now been reported by the media? Do reporters not routinely review police reports?

You take the high road, and I'll take the low road

It's a line from a famous lament of Scottish lore, and a sign of just what has come of the one who claimed to be "a uniter, not a divider." President Obama fired General Stanley McChrystal today for comments not necessarily attributable to him and to save face in the eye of the public. He needed to look tough, which unfortunately he could never do. He had an opportunity to take the high road and gain some strength in that  particular situation, but instead chose to go the low road and add one more person under that famous Obama bus. I predict more people under that bus by the end of the summer, because that is a way to play his last card; the victim card. If I were Rahm Emmanuel or Eric Holder, or Robert Gibbs, I'd keep an extra eye out for buses!

Excellent Commentary On Islam And The West

Best political ad ever!

No longer "General Betrayus?"

Obama has appointed General Petraeus to succeed General McCrystal as head of the Afghanistan war. Remember when the George Soros funded group MoveOn.org purchased a full page ad in the New York Times calling Petraeus General Betrayus? Remember when Hillary Clinton accused Petraeus of being a liar? That was when General Petraeus was explaining to Congress the need for a surge (which policy was funded and succeeded in Iraq). Now, however, Obama says Petraeus has his "full confidence." What changed? When did that happen? Obama was a huge critic of Petraeus during the hearings on the proposed surge. Now Petraeus has his full confidence? I'm confused.

You mean there is a branch of government called the judicial?

Yes, there is one more branch of government, and it is not yet wholly controlled by the Obama regime. Yesterday a federal judge in New Orleans struck down the Obama administration's ban on deep-water drilling and rebuked the government for imposing a moratorium that would cause "irreparable harm to businesses" along the Gulf Coast.
Our founders were true geniuses.

Arizona is a long way from Chicago

Senator John Kyl meets with constituents, and tells them about his meeting with President Obama in the oval office. Don't you love the internet?

The Cure Was Worse Than The Disease

R.I.P.
Obama Presidency
Jan. 2009-June 2010

The obituary of the Obama presidency will read like the the most expensive tomb to the memory of a man and a movement that finally convinced the people of the United States to stop trusting experts and self appointed demagogues and to finally just roll up their sleeves and be part of this thing called democracy.
It has been often said that bad men prosper when good men do nothing. As Mark Steyn has characterized it so well, this administration was "a cult of radical grandiose narcissism," a plain old bad mistake of the first order. As people begin to jump ship and the tenuous order of the current White House turns to ruin, look to two things: first, hope that the rest of this year is relatively stable and does not afford Obama the opportunity to seize any more crises; and second, hope that the election in November brings us somewhat of our own "hung parliament" so that the current administration is rendered completely lame duck. This would give us all the peace of knowing that we could look to the future and plan to repair the damage done in this first eighteen months of Obama's reign of error.
Remember that when you elect the most liberal member of the Senate to the Presidency, you will indeed get the most liberal President ever to sit in the Oval office. Just as when a cancer patient is brought to the brink of death to kill his tumors, America has undergone a radical cure that is really much worse than the original disease which was liberalism itself. We must quickly abandon that unconstrained vision that Thomas Sowell warned us about and go back to a constrained one that hopes for the future but handles the present with wisdom and true moral courage. Or I could say it this way: we're in for a rough ride, so strap in and hang on!

In the end, it shall be we the people who are in charge.

So General McChrystal gives an interview to Rolling Stone magazine. According to the usually unreliable New York Times, the General was
"openly contemptuous of some senior members of the Obama administration.”
in the interview. Did the General know what he was doing? If so, who was he hoping would hear his words? The troops? The voting citizens of America? Will the White House fire him?

Although I agree with the general, I do think he should be fired, if it is true that he spoke contemptuously of the White House. The president is the Commander in Chief. The military is below, not above the Commander in Chief. If you cannot agree with the Commander in Chief, resign, and speak your mind as a free American citizen. We will listen!

Britain shows willingness to deal with debt

The headlines are buzzing today about Britain's new budget deal, which increases their VAT, slashes whole government offices, and freezes wage increases, while also lowering the corporate tax rate to stimulate small business. The unlikely Conservative-Liberal Democrat Coalition is preparing to deal with the country's  mounting debt in concrete and productive ways. Again I say, could we be looking at the near future for the US in the mirror of current UK news? Does the leadership in the US have the courage to deal  with our debt mess as bravely? Let's hope and pray so.

Let the departures begin

Today the news comes out that the first departure from the high ranks of the Obama administration has begun. White House Budget Director Peter Orszag is leaving a post that was often relied upon in the last eighteen months during all the "discussion" over health care reform. I look to this summer to be one of hearing these announcements fairly often. Among those who must leave to keep their career going is Hillary Clinton. She has already begun to position herself as a critic of the President by leaking plans of a lawsuit here in the US against the state of Arizona over the immigration bill, which, the last time I checked wasn't anything remotely having to do with her role as Secretary of State. Aw heck, it's just a coincidence, right?

Nebraska Town Votes to Restrict Illegal Immigration

Voters in the eastern Nebraska city of Fremont on Monday approved a ban on hiring or renting property to illegal immigrants, the latest proposal in a series of immigration regulations taken up by communities around the country.

About 57 percent of voters in Fremont supported the proposal, according to unofficial results that still must be certified by the election commissioner. The measure is likely to face a long and costly court battle, with the American Civil Liberties Union saying it will try to block it before it even goes into effect.

The town of about 25,000 people has watched as its Hispanic population surged in the past two decades, largely due to the jobs available at the nearby Fremont Beef and Hormel meatpacking plants. The city also has an enviably low unemployment rate that matches the Nebraska rate of 4.9 percent.

Nonetheless, residents worry that jobs are going to illegal immigrants who they fear could drain community resources. Proponents of the ballot measure collected enough signatures and fought in the Nebraska Supreme Court to put the question to a public vote.

Supporters say the measure is needed to make up for what they see as lax federal law enforcement. Opponents say it could fuel discrimination. (from Foxnews.com
)

I find this interesting because it creates a situation, I think unintended by the voters, that gives more power to the local government by creating a license to rent and forces renters to use a Federal database to insure that they are renting to legal residents. Is this another one of those slippery slopes that ends up going the wrong direction by giving more power to the government, and thereby limiting freedom for everyone? We shall see.

A Small Beginning

June 19. 2010, a day which will live in memory as, well, a really long day in my history.
Brian Fenimore, my friend and mentor, had suggested I have a series of meetings with our friends in Pueblo who have a ministry of bringing speakers to the area called The Living Room. Sheila Cesario brings people to her home and the Kingdom comes. Sheila and I had also tried to get something started, and this summer seemed to be the good starting point.
I had written and thought on the themes of personal renewal and revival on my personal website for a couple of years, so I thought that would be a good theme to start with in this setting, so I took the notes I had from those writings and moved them into Powerpoint slides and I was off to the races. I also had a short 40-page e-book ready to announce the release of, and I had registration cards and business cards to hand out as well as a handout of the notes.
This is the first lesson in ministry, nothing ever goes as planned; not a thing. When I got into my car, I realized that someone had broken into it sometime overnight. Everything in my car was strewn all over the car. I just laughed, because there was nothing for them to steal. Once I got to Pueblo I drove up to the place and there was construction going on that blocked most of the way to the meeting place. When I met with Sheila, she was surprised to see me there early, and began to apologize. She said that there were two really big conferences going on in town this weekend and that it might just be the two of us at the meeting this time. Undaunted, I continued to stay focused. The first thing to do was setup my laptop and monitor and get all of the paperwork out and ready to go, as well as the setup of the stereo for a short worship time. As soon as all of this was done people began to arrive and even those who said they would not be there showed up anyway.
Immediately Sheila presented her young family member(can't remember the relation) LeAnn to me to pray for her. I prayed and prophesied over her about the significance of her own destiny and that she has an ability to impart counsel and wisdom to others. I said that I felt that God had a special plan to bless her and to give her a future and a hope. She is a hair stylist, and I encouraged her with the idea that this is a good business to be in during difficult times, and that she was at her current job to learn everything about the business to eventually have her own shop. LeAnn seemed encouraged and left to go to work very happy and strengthened in the Lord, I believe.
By this time everyone had arrived, so we began with some Celtic worship. The presence of the Lord was very tangible as we prayed for God to come and touch us in revival and renewal, using the refrain from Psalm 119 "Revive me, O Lord, according to Your word. Revive me O Lord, according to your judgments. Revive me, O Lord, according to your lovingkindness."
When we had finished worship, I transitioned to the teaching time. Before that, though, one of the ladies, Virginia, felt led to pray for me and anoint me with oil. I was greatly encouraged with the power and sincerity of her prayer, which was a release of anointing to teach and favor to minister to those assembled. I really felt God's hand on this, and sensed it was His final endorsement for my ministry to go forward. I had asked the Lord, on the way to the meeting, that if I was called to this that He would confirm it somehow, and that if I was deceived somehow or just promoting myself, that He would make that clear as well.
I fired up Powerpoint and announced the beginning of Restoration Ministries. I showed everyone the web sites I have been running, JavaJazzJesus and the Kingdom Triangle Network News Service.  Then I began to teach about "Perspectives on Revival." This was a teaching about what revival is and isn't. I taught about God's purpose in revival, and the aspect that revival is both personal and corporate, both intentional and sovereign, and that God's ultimate purpose in revival is the proclamation of the Kingdom in all of it's aspects. I especially emphasized the idea that revival is a personal experience with God, and led everyone to the point of seeing it as an opportunity to pray the prayer "Revive me. O Lord."
Several times people seemed to comment that they had all been in a season of slumber or stasis, just going through the motions with regard to their walk with God, but all also seemed to sense the Holy Spirit awakening their hearts and spirits to a new refreshing and renewal in the things of God.
I prayed for and ministered prophetically to several people at the end of the meeting.
I prayed for Virginia, and encouraged her that, just as she had prayed and laid hands on me for impartation, that she had a real duty to pass on the blessing given to her in her life, that she has a depth of character and holiness and purity that the young people of today do not possess but desperately need, and that she should consider it a duty to lay hands on and bless as many as possible in this next season.
When I prayed for Veronica, I saw a picture of her rising up in the Spirit, and I sensed God calling to her to "Arise, Veronica. Arise!"
Jewel was a lady that had been through a difficult time of loss recently, and the Lord gave me a picture of a shepherd's crook, or rod, which he had laid across her. I sensed the Lord saying to her that she has a call to walk with those who are going through times of difficulty. The phrase I think was that she was a helper of those who are going "through the valley." I also encouraged her that, when others don't seem to be there for her, that that is the time when the Lord is pleased to walk with her alone, drawing near to her in a special way.
I prayed for Celeste, who I saw in a picture striking a church bell in the top of the steeple of a church. I said that I felt that she has a gift of drawing people to Jesus, and an uplifting spirit that lifts others to be joyful and encouraged. The word "acceptance" came to mind, and I spoke that word over Celeste. I said that God was bringing to her mind and heart an understanding of her total acceptance in Christ, and that anything that was not in alignment with this powerful acceptance was broken off of her in the name of Jesus. I said that just as light removes darkness, that acceptance removes any rejection in her life that she may have experienced.
Once I had finished praying with everyone I gathered up all of my equipment and bolted out the door. It was about 1 pm by then. Amazingly, I was only a couple of minutes late for work at 2:30 pm, and worked that night until 11:30 pm. Man, what a long day for my small beginning! I felt God was with me the whole time. And, I was able to listen to Seth Godin's audiobook "Tribes" all of the way through on the drive back and forth to Pueblo. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Astronaut Leroy Chaio's Favorite Gizmo!

Astronaut Lero Chaio tells the touching story of a connection between a man and his beloved coffee maker. I really wept when I read this story. Of course, I was drinking my favorite Starbuck's Americano at the time. Coincidence? I think not! (From Gizmodo.com)

Relax, George, Obama is doing all he can to help you!

Obama has imposed a six month moratorium on all oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. Meanwhile, the Brazilian oil company which the Democrats' sugar daddy George Soros has invested nearly 900 million dollars in, faces no such moratorium. It's full steam ahead for Brazilian oil, Venezuelan oil, Iranian oil, and Saudia Arabian oil. Obama wants to help the Soros-funded Brazilian oil company, and is offering them a loan of our tax-payer funded dollars, up to ten million dollars!

Blessed

Did you hear Rush Limbaugh talk about his recent wedding? I believe it is in the back of his mind to consider running for President. His beautiful wife is an experienced "event planner." She planned every aspect of their wedding, including inviting Elton John to perform. Mr. John has been the target of incredible hatred from the left for daring to "build a bridge."

A tribute to Mr. Elton John, and a reminder to all of us: "You'll be blessed." We are blessed by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Oh, and one more thing. Rush, if you do decide to run, I hereby volunteer to be your campaign coordinator in Colorado!

Meet Gary Faulkner - He REALLY wants to kill Osama Bin Laden

Gary Faulkner's sister calls Pakistan at all hours from her Grand Junction home, trying to get any information about the Colorado man arrested for trying to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.
"I am very concerned," Deanna M. Faulkner, 47, told TheDenverChannel.com Wednesday. "The bottom line is my brother has a kidney disease and without treatment in the next two to three weeks, his body will shut down."
So, the sister has been calling U.S. State Department officials from Washington, D.C., to the Pakistan capital of Islamabad, seeking reassurance that diplomats have stressed to their Pakistani counterparts the need for Gary Faulkner to get dialysis treatment swiftly.
She got good news Wednesday: Pakistani officials have moved her brother from the northwest frontier city of Peshawar to Islamabad where U.S. embassy officials plan to meet with the 50-year-old Greeley construction worker.
"He has not been charged," Deanna Faulkner recounted what a State Department official told her. "We have been told that he is still being held and he is still being questioned."

A Statement Department spokesman told TheDenverChannel.com Wednesday that embassy officials expect to soon meet with Faulkner.
"They're trying to arrange a visit with him," State Department spokesman Fred Lash said. "Usually with a friendly power like (Pakistan), it's pretty fast."
Lash could not confirm reports that Gary Faulkner has visited Pakistan seven times in recent years. But the spokesman said embassy officials should be able to confirm such details after they interview Faulkner.
Deanna Faulkner dismissed press reports that a Pakistani doctor who examined her brother said he suffers from psychological problems, as a senior Pakistani intelligence official told CNN Wednesday.
"He's very stressed and he's been questioned," she said. "We have no idea if he hasn't slept in four days. You don't know what kind of duress he's under."
"It's not fair. Someone's giving a judgment on someone from another country, that's from a different culture. And what one thinks is normal, another doesn't," she added.
The man's brother, Dr. Scott Faulkner of Fort Morgan, agreed.
"My brother is not crazy," Scott Faulkner said Tuesday. "He is highly intelligent and loves his country, and he has not forgotten what Osama has done to this country. He knows the martial arts, and he knows how to handle himself."
The siblings described Gary Faulkner as a deeply religious and patriotic man who wanted to track down the bin Laden to avenge the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States.
"As a Christian he felt, when Osama mocked this country after 9/11 and it didn't feel like the military was doing enough, it became his passion," Dr. Faulkner said. "This is not a vendetta against a different religion. This is against one man who has made it his mission to make America fearful."
Deanna Faulkner said her brother's ability to repeatedly travel to the Pakistan frontier -- and learn the local customs and language enough to blend in -- shows his intelligence and commitment to the one-man mission against the head of the al-Qaida.
"You don't go over there seven times and make it back alive seven times and have done the reconnaissance that he'd done without having some faith in God, having skill and … having some wit about you," she said.
"There are many people who are in the military that go to be a SEAL or a sniper … is that person crazy?" the sister said, referring to highly trained Navy commandos.
Gary Faulkner was arrested on the Pakistani-Afghan border after authorities said they caught him looking for Osama bin Laden in an apparent plot to behead the terrorist leader and collect a $25 million bounty offered by the United States government.
Faulkner was carrying a pistol, a 40-inch sword, night-vision equipment and Christian religious books when he was arrested, said Mumtaz Ahmed, a police chief in Pakistan.
The bearded bounty hunter reportedly told police he wanted to decapitate bin Laden.
"I think Osama is responsible for bloodshed in the world, and I want to kill him," a police official quoted him as saying.
Deanna Faulkner is reassured that her brother is now in a big city where he can get proper medical care. CNN reported that the Pakistani doctor confirm he's a kidney patient who has been undergoing dialysis every 20 days.
"I love my brother," she said. "I hope that everyone prays for him. And that God keeps him safe and bring him home to us."

It could be possible that Gary Faulkner is the last sane man in America.- Cliff

Competence czar to be named soon by Obama

I know you're worried. But, help is on the way. We will soon have competence in the White House.

From Hubris to Nemesis

Last night I watched the President deliver a speech from the Oval Office (twice through, I might add) and I felt that strange feeling that makes you ask, "Are we in the Twilight Zone, or what?" Am I the only one on the planet that thinks that this man takes himself a little too seriously? Aren't addresses from the Oval Office supposed to be moments of somber remembrance and dire news? I think that when past Presidents used this it was about a national tragedy(9/11) or the announcement of sending out troops to deal with some serious situation(The Gulf War, Iraq). And while this is a serious situation in our own Gulf Coast, really the only person who is being most greatly effected by this situation is apparently Barack Obama. Is he really not able to see whether this was a proper time to use the Oval Office as a vehicle for this speech or not? For those of you keeping track, this would be the 468th time my Cynical Meter just plain went haywire and gave up the ghost! The only thing missing in last night's speech was an apology. The one time the man can actually do some good with an apology, and he cynically uses his Office and a real national crisis as an opportunity to push new legislation. The Greeks had a word for this:
Hubris |ˈ(h)yoōbris|
nounexcessive pride or self-confidence.• (in Greek tragedyexcessive pride toward or defiance of the gods, leading to nemesis.

Hubris was the ultimate sin in ancient Greece. It was considered the worst thing you could possibly be guilty of, an arrogance that led to a public outcry for justice to be done upon the man.

Obama used a national tragedy to boost his own agenda, and then what did he do? He invoked the name of God in cynical agnostic fashion, mocking those with a need for God's real mercy and strength in this time of difficulty for them. Obama uses even God in his manipulative missive to sway those weakened by weariness in this prolonged test of their faith and will. For me, that was the moment he finally stepped over the line. To have kept people of faith at arm's length and ignored their days of prayer for his welfare, and then to invoke their Deity when it suits him for political points in a speech was the very moment when Obama moved from Hubris to Nemesis, and all by his own choosing.
nemesis |ˈneməsis|noun ( pl. -ses |-ˌsēz|) (usu. one's nemesis)the inescapable or implacable agent of someone's or something'sdownfall the balance beam was the team's nemesis, as two gymnasts fell fromthe apparatus.• downfall caused by such an agent one risks nemesis by uttering such words.

About Intimidation

Intimidation is a waste of time and energy for people on both sides. We are all too broken to waste time either intimidating or being intimidated by others. The true antidote to intimidation is acceptance. When we are able to accept ourselves as we are we will be able to accept others in the middle of their character weakness as well. No need to put up a shield when shielding them in prayer and kind action is a better answer. No one I know has time to waste on intimidation.

Kingdom Tools: The Basics Of The Christian Worldview

This is the quickest, most concise presentation of the basics of the Christian Worldview I've seen on the web. It includes a clear description of all of the major points of the Christian Worldview and an excellent short course on three basic arguments for the existence of God by Norm Geisler. Here is a synopsis of the info on the video:

The Christian Worldview:
Theology -    Theism
Philosophy -  Supernaturalism
Ethics -          Absolutes
Biology -       Creation
Psychology - Mind/Body Dualism
Sociology -    Traditional Home, Church and State
Law -             Biblical and Natural Law
Politics -         Justice, Freedom, and Order
Economics -   Stewardship of Property
History -         Historical Resurrection

Three Basic Arguments For The Existence Of God:
Cosmological  - the Universe had a beginning, therefore there must be a beginner.
Teleological - the argument from design (telos) which states that every design must have a designer.
Moral Law - the existence of moral absolutes and laws points to a Moral Lawgiver.

Kingdom Resources: The Voice Of The Lord Thunders

After years in the works, the new book by Brian Fenimore is finally available, entitled The Voice Of The Lord Thunders. Brian has been traveling throughout the US teaching and demonstrating the ministries of the Holy Spirit for about fifteen years and is probably the absolute best teacher for the practical, how-to side of the ministries of the Holy Spirit today, and especially the prophetic ministry. With unhelpful models and attitudes abounding in the church today, Brian brings a fresh, simple, and profound approach to the prophetic and hearing the voice of God that can be employed by any believer in any situation. Brian's ministry is based upon years of daily and faithful ministry, in trial and error, humility and humor, and most of all, the Father's heart of compassion for people, which is indeed the main theme and vision of his ministry.
Over the years I have known Brian, I have seen many people impacted and healed and restored back to Jesus through his ministry. His understanding and accurate use of the Biblical gift of the Word of Knowledge is nothing short of amazing, and if you would like to know how to move in this revelatory gift of the Spirit, I recommend you get as much of his teaching on this subject as you can.
My personal testimony is that of someone who has seen God move through Brian in a way that is consistent, compassionate, and compelling. I personally was there when Brian has laid hands on the sick and they have recovered from everything from allergies and unforgiveness to structural bone problems and cancer. This way of God using Brian Fenimore consistently is surely impressive, but really the most impressive thing is that he has the ability to teach you and me how to do things as well.
So, read his book, and get his teachings on video and audio, and get out there and do this stuff. You'll find out what Brian always teaches, which is that the Father is always up to something and that He will happily use you to be an instrument in His hands.

Meet Alvin Greene, Democratic Senate Candidate, South Carolina

This is the funniest video ever. Why? Because it's real life. This guy could actually become a Senator.

Starbuck's - A Love Story

OK, so let me tell you a story. Once upon a time there was a short, pudgy little guy named Cliff who loved coffee. He was one of the many people who liked the coffee at Starbuck's and was a fan of the four-shot-with-four-ounces-of-water-in-a-short-cup-Americano. (That'll be two dollars and seventy-six cents, sir. Thank you! I can help who's next...) One day he found out that the gift card he reused and reloaded frequently could net him a very useful prize, two hours of wi-fi a day, for FREE!

So, he went to the Starbuck's website and registered his already at least two year old card and found out some really devastating, but awesome, news. He could have been using his old card to get points! Points I tell ya! Points towards what, you may ask? Free drinks! Well, Cliff felt a sense of excitement over the possibility of free drinks, and simultaneously a sense of loss and grief over the two years of points he missed out on. (Let's see, that's, fifteen points for a free drink, and two years of going to Starbuck's at the usual addictive frequency. Holy Smokes! That's like, two hundred and forty-seven free drinks! Dang it!) In about three weeks or so, Cliff got a personally addressed letter from Starbuck's saying that he was so special that he deserved a special gold card. GOLD! And with this special gold card he would get free wi-fi. FREE WI-FI! WOW! For a couple of months Cliff would take out his special gold card and pay for his drinks and get his free wi-fi with the absolute surety that he alone, and not all of those other schmucks, was that only one in the room getting free wi-fi, and points. These were special moments for Cliff and his relationship with Starbuck's. There seemed to be a real bond, even mutual appreciation; deep mutual appreciation.

Then one day Cliff checked the tech blogs and found out that he was being jilted. Starbuck's, which had been giving special free wi-fi attention to him, was planning to just give it away, for FREE! To EVERYONE! That floosie! That tramp! That hussie! Well, if it weren't for the dark, smoky French Roast coffee, and wonderful espresso, and sweet, tasty treats, and the jazzy, cool music and the comfy chairs and the convenient place to meet friends and get computer work done, Cliff would have left Starbuck's for good. But hey, he still gets his free wi-fi, and don't forget points. Did he mention that he has a gold card. Yes, as a matter of fact he did.

Kingdom Quotes - Mahatma Gandhi

“First, I would suggest that all of you Christians, missionaries and all, must begin to live more like Jesus Christ. Second, practice your religion without adulterating it or toning it down. Third, emphasize love and make it your working force, for love is central in Christianity. Fourth, study the non-Christian religions more sympathetically to find the good that is within them, in order to have a more sympathetic approach to the people.”

Power Quote of the Day - Mark Steyn

In recent months, a lot of Americans have said to me that they had no idea the new president would feel so “weird.” But, in fact, he’s not weird. True, he’s not, even in Democratic terms, a political figure — as, say, Clinton or Biden are. Instead, he’s the product of the broader culture: There are millions of people like Barack Obama, the eternal students of a vast lethargic transnational campus for whom global compassion and the multicultural pose are merely the modish gloss on a cult of radical grandiose narcissism. As someone once said, “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.” When you’ve spent that long waiting in line for yourself, it’s bound to be a disappointment.

A Wanderer From Islam With A Message for the West

A fascinating and haunting and short article about a woman, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who as a former Muslim has a story to tell. Here is good comment on Liberals in America from her vantage point. Much more in the enclosed article on the link above.

From the Globe and Mail, author Margaret Wente quotes Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

"Why are so many liberal intellectuals, social democrats and feminists so silent on the more noxious features of Islam - the fierce intolerance toward unbelievers, the repression of individual freedom, the routine abuse of children, the misogyny, the forced subservience of women? "'Its the seduction of totalitarianism, '" she says. In her view, Western defenders of Islam are the intellectual heirs of those highly intelligent men and women who used to heap praise on Comrade Stalin. "'It's a blind spot that left-wing intellectuals have always had'".

It's a short but brilliant article the sums up the intellectual wreck that left wing thought brings to the world and the dangers of giving in to those Muslims who want to enforce sharia law.

"Power Hungry"

Energy and power are certainly in the news these days. Remember when we were told that oil would soon be depleted? This gulf oil spill seems to indicate that there is no danger of depletion any time soon! There is a new book entitled Power Hungry by Robert Bryce, which apparently takes a comprehensive look at our energy and power needs and usages. It is reviewed extensively by Jon Boone here. Apparently, Mr. Bryce recommends we get on with the task of developing our natural gas fields, then on to more nuclear power.

Breaking The Spiritual Sound Barrier - By Guest Contributor Jim Frieberg

Luke 6:46-49:

"Why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not [practice] what I tell you?"
"For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words [in order to heed their teaching] and does them, I will show you what he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep and laid a foundation upon the rock; and when a flood arose, the torrent broke against that house and could not shake or move it, because it had been securely built or [a]founded on a rock. But he who merely hears and does not practice doing My words is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation, against which the torrent burst, and immediately it collapsed and fell, and the breaking and ruin of that house was great."
Why do I remain in the realm of “spiritual turbulence” being buffeted and tossed around? Why am I not experiencing the spiritual breakthrough that God wants for me? Why am I stuck, spinning my spiritual wheels, making little forward progress? Is there a breakthrough point? Can I expect that in my life? As a point of comparison, and for illustrative purposes; the Lord reminded me of Chuck Yeager and his experience in breaking the sound barrier. So I asked; what was it like for him as he attempted to break the sound barrier, being launched from the belly of a B-29 in his experimental aircraft? Can I have the same expectation in the spiritual realm, knowing that I will be more “alive” on the other end?

Gen. Chuck Yeager Describes How He Broke The Sound Barrier

When I’d settled, Ridley would lower the cabin door on a small cable and position it over the doorframe. He’d push from the outside and I’d latch from the inside and somehow, in the icy wind, with thinning oxygen and mounting anticipation, we’d get the X-1 ready for flight.

The drop itself was the next big obstacle, and like entering the bird, it’s something that I never really got used to. During preflight checks, I’d practice neutralizing the controls and brace myself for the release. Cardenas would go through the countdown, finishing with an emphatic “Drop!” The X-1 would float from the B-29 and I’d get launched right up to the cockpit overhead, caressing the canopy with my helmet in the sudden swell of microgravity. My heart was in my mouth, stomach right behind it.

The pilot’s reports I wrote afterward were devoid of these sensations–as a professional test pilot, you were expected to maintain a dispassionate tone. Consider these excerpts from the report following the eighth powered flight: “After pilot entry in the usual fashion at 7000 ft., the XS-1 was dropped from the B-29 at 20,000 ft. and at 260 mph indicated airspeed. . . . Immediately after the drop, all cylinders were started in rapid sequence, and with all four in operation it was noted that No. 1 and No. 3 had 210-psi chamber pressure, No. 2 and No. 4 having 220 psi, with approximately 290-psi LOX and fuel line pressure. . . . The climb was made at .85 to .88 Mach until 40,000 ft. was reached. . . . “

That flight, on Oct. 10, signaled enormous progress in the X-1 program. We thought it was only a matter of time before we’d push through the sound barrier. What would it be like? A pebble in the road of aviation we had merely to step over? Or an insurmountable Chinese Wall that would destroy the X-1–and me with it? Naturally, thoughts at these moments turned to Glennis and my boys, who sacrificed plenty out in the desert in those brightly lit days of the late 1940s. I wanted to fly, wanted to take my shot at the speed of sound. And they were my own personal cheering section.

As I stood looking at my carrot, my glasses and my rope on the morning of Oct. 14–broken ribs secretly knifing at my side–I thought that this just might be the day. The eighth powered flight had gone exceedingly well. We had flown as fast or faster than anyone ever had before. And it looked as though we only had to step over the line to enter aviation’s new age. The day of the ninth powered flight began in the usual way. I fried the eggs while Glennis got ready to drive me over to the airfield. I’d had a bad night’s sleep–from the pain in my side, but also from the indecision about whether or not to fly the mission incapacitated. Tossing and turning, I decided to make up my mind in the air. If it became physically impossible to climb into the X-1, then I’d scrub the mission. If I could get into the pilot’s seat, I knew I could fly.

As the team swarmed over the X-1, with cords from trouble lights dangling in the early morning gloom, and tools, racks, ladders and other gear surrounding the little ship, Ridley began the preflight coaching. “We got that Drene shampoo for the windshield,” he said, “so you shouldn’t have any trouble with the windscreen frosting over. Now remember, you play around with the stabilizer setting before you make your high-speed run. We know you’ll lose some elevator control, so find out where you get the most longitudinal control with the stabilizer. Try it at different settings and different speeds above .85 or .86 Mach.” Discussions continued over coffee. There was a heightened intensity, a new determination, on the part of everyone involved. This was it.

This was the day. Would it end with another record shattered? Or with failure’s grim finality?

After the X-1 was fueled, I returned to the ready room with Ridley to don my flight suit. Briefings continued, peppered by admonitions and warnings: “Under no circumstances are you to . . .,” “In the event of . . .,” “You’d better be sure to . . . .” Their whole point was to make sure I didn’t take the X-1 over .96 Mach if I didn’t think the plane could handle it.

Fear crouched in the deep recesses of the mind–present, accounted for, but well controlled. With the fueling and mating procedures completed, I walked back out to the B-29 and stooped low to make a last-minute check of the X-1’s instrumentation. My helmet and oxygen mask were well secured behind the seat, I jogged to the boarding ladder and started climbing. Then there was the long wait as the B-29’s engines fired, the big bird began its takeoff roll and lumbered up to the drop altitude. I sat on a metal box inside the plane, ignoring my safety belt against the regulations. At 5000 ft., I nudged Ridley and said, “Let’s go.” We walked back to the bomb bay hatch and strode through. There was the little X-1, dangling in all that wind and cold and thinning air. Every move was torturous at this altitude. Getting into the X-1 on a good day was tiring enough. But I struggled through, wangled the hatch closed with the help of a 10-in. piece of broomhandle I’d fashioned for the purpose (because of the limits imposed by my broken ribs) and continued checking the X-1’s pressurization, fuel delivery and controls.

Richard Frost, Bell project engineer, was flying low chase that morning, and Lt. Bob Hoover was flying high chase well ahead of the B-29, both in Lockheed P-80s. In the standard routine, Frost would pull into a slight climb as I lighted the first chamber, aiming for Hoover’s P-80 about 10 miles ahead. I would try to pass Hoover at relatively close range as the fuel supply depleted, and he’d follow me down for an unpowered landing on the lakebed.

Everything was set inside X-1 as Cardenas started the countdown. Frost assumed his position and the mighty crack from the cable release hurled the X-1 into the abyss. I fired chamber No. 4, then No. 2, then shut off No. 4 and fired No. 3, then shut off No. 2 and fired No. 1. The X-1 began racing toward the heavens, leaving the B-29 and the P-80 far behind. I then ignited chambers No. 2 and No. 4, and under a full 6000 pounds of thrust, the little rocket plane accelerated instantly, leaving a contrail of fire and exhaust. From .83 Mach to .92 Mach, I was busily engaged testing stabilizer effectiveness. The rudder and elevator lost their grip on the thinning air, but the stabilizer still proved effective, even as speed increased to .95 Mach. At 35,000 ft., I shut down two of the chambers and continued to climb on the remaining two. We were really hauling! I was excited and pleased, but the flight report I later filed maintained that outward cool: “With the stabilizer setting at 2 degrees, the speed was allowed to increase to approximately .95 to .96 Mach number. The airplane was allowed to continue to accelerate until an indication of .965 on the cockpit Machmeter was obtained. At this indication, the meter momentarily stopped and then jumped up to 1.06, and the hesitation was assumed to be caused by the effect of shock waves on the static source.” I had flown at supersonic speeds for 18 seconds. There was no buffet, no jolt, no shock. Above all, no brick wall to smash into. I was alive.

What Is Next In Breaking My Spiritual Sound Barrier?

Spiritual Principal No.#1 – The Word Is Alive, Active, And Achieving!

Isaiah 55:8-11:

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. 9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. 10For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,(A) 11So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Spiritual Principal No.#2 – The Spoken Word Calls Forth a Heavenly Response!

Psalm 103:20:
Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word.

Spiritual Principal No.#3 – Expectation Of The Lord’s Goodness Is A Demonstration of Faith And Is Pleasing To The Lord

Psalm 27:13-14:
[What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord's goodness in the land of the living! 14Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

Isaiah 53:5:
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

Peace of Mind

Protection Against Unforseen Dangers

Proverbs 3:25-26:
Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor of the stormy blast or the storm and ruin of the wicked when it comes [for you will be guiltless], 26For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].

Proverbs 12:21:
No [actual] evil, misfortune, or calamity shall come upon the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil, misfortune, and calamity.

Proverbs 19:23:
