President Obama is condemning the mine owner in West Virginia where miners were killed. He wants the mine owner to be held accountable, despite the fact that the federal government, headed by Obama, regulates the mines.
Remember when the Islamic radical psychiatrist opened fire on our soldiers at Fort Hood? Not a word from Obama about holding accountable the poisonous Islamic terrorists who influenced the killer. Not a word from Obama about the political correctness in the ranks of the mental health professionals in our military that enabled this killer to continue to get promoted all the way to the rank of Major!

Not quite ready for 4H
Although I have not followed the story well enough to know the details, lots of people are talking about the woman who sent her adopted son back to Russia, along with a note that said she no longer wished to parent this child! Nevertheless, because we have an adopted child, I have some thoughts on the subject.
Here are some of the issues that I think might be needing to be brought to light. One is that right here in America there are thousands of children legally available to be adopted. Another is that adoptive couples may not realize how challenging it can be to adopt a child who has inherited genetics or other background issues such as abandonment or abuse that may be very foreign to the couple's own genetics or background.
Why do so many people go abroad to adopt when there are so many American children needing families? I believe one reason may be that the couples fear that if they adopt American children they may have to deal with the child's birthparent or other members of her extended family.
In our child's case, she came to us at age sixteen days. She had been in a "foster home" (I use the quotation marks because I do not know if it was a licensed home) the first fifteen days of her life. The foster mother was arrested for attempting to murder the foster father! So, in addition to being born addicted to illegal drugs her birthmother had been using during pregnancy, she was placed in a chaotic environment.
Then, there was the matter of birthmother's mental health issues. She had been diagnosed with just about every serious mental disorder you may have heard of. A baby she had given birth to about one year before our child was born, was brought in for a supervised visit with the mother. The mother became angry at the caseworker, and threw the baby at the caseworker! So, when our visits were set up a year later with the same mother and our foster child, security personnel were always present, and we were ushered in through a side entrance. Sure enough, the mother did not succeed in her court-ordered treatment plan, and we adopted the child.
Our child is now six. She is beginning to have more and more difficulty socially. She can hold it together for much of a day, but almost always has a meltdown in the late afternoon or evening. Recently she was at a 4H dinner, and had been doing well, until after her assigned chores were completed and she was playing with a group of boys. She followed them into the boys bathroom. A man saw her go in, and, as I understand it, was rather gruff in telling her to get out. She responded by giving him the middle finger (which she later explained to me she was merely pointing her middle finger towards the ceiling). Yeah, right. The woman who was head of the 4H was summoned, but our daughter informed her that she did not have to listen to her because she was not her mother. Our daughter will have the consequence of not going with the family to any 4H events until next fall, when hopefully she will be mature enough to behave appropriately.
If her social interactions continue to be troublesome, we do have access to help, and we will take advantage of that. Our child has already accomplished many things that earlier professionals who worked with her would never have thought to be possible. The occupational therapist who worked with her in her early years thought she may have cerebral palsy (she is exceptionally gifted physically, and is quite the little athlete). Another professional thought she would be below average intelligence (She is at least average, and can beat her dad in the card game "memory"). We will resist medicating her unless it is an absolute last resort.
We talk to her about God's love and our faith in God, and take her to church, where she attends Sunday school. She knows about Jesus, whom she continues to pronounce "Cheesus." (She loves cheese). She has a good heart, and we would appreciate your prayers.

As He Is, So Are We In This World
"As He is, so are we in this world." This is a quote from the apostle John's first letter. I've had it ringing through my mind lately, and wondering out loud about what it could possibly mean. It occurred to me to think about Jesus in a different way, a new way, an even revolutionary way. It may seem odd to think of Jesus as a guy with a job and a job description, but that's what I'm doing.
He even said as much, that He was pretty much just a Guy with a job to do! He said it like this:“The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.” This is a direct quote from the prophet Isaiah, who wrote this seven hundred years earlier.
The first part of this you might miss because it goes by so fast, that part about the Spirit of the Lord being upon Him. You might think, "Well, duh! Of course the Son of God would have the Spirit of God upon Him!" So if it is so obvious why would Jesus, and the prophet Isaiah, need to say it that way? Because of the significance of the Spirit of God throughout the history of God's people. You see, when there was a great need or time of difficulty, God would send a hero, a deliverer, a prophet or a judge to help the people out of their situation. And typically this person would be known as someone who has a measure of the Spirit of God operating directly in their lives. So when Jesus is saying He has the Spirit of God upon Him He is claiming to be a deliverer or judge of some kind.
So what about the phrase "he has anointed me?" To anoint means "to rub or smear with oil", like when David was anointed by Samuel to be King. Samuel took a whole container of about a liter of oil and doused David with it. You could probably smell the strong presence of the oil on David for weeks after that. Anointing with oil was the ceremonial act of commissioning someone to a position of importance, and became a symbol of being called out and set apart to God and His purposes. So Jesus was claiming this for Himself, claiming to be a special person, called to a unique and powerful representative of God and His purposes on the earth.
So, as a special agent on behalf of God, Jesus comes with a message, news from God about a new way to relate and have relationship with God. He also brought news about a new system of government on earth, one in which God rules and reigns through the work of Jesus and the people that know God through Him.
Jesus announces that captives, or prisoners, will be set free. He deliberately promises to be a Deliverer for those who are bound and gagged with impossible oppression and depression. He declares that He is not only going to set people free, but that He will bring in a kingdom that has as it's essential aspect one of freedom and liberty of heart, mind and soul.
Jesus also announces that "the blind will see." This is actually a sideways quote of a verse from Isaiah, the Old Testament prophet we mentioned before, "In that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see." All throughout the time of God's dealings with Israel, God's special people, He used the idea of deafness and blindness to illustrate unwillingness to cooperate with God and hardness of heart towards Him and His redemptive attempts to bless His people. It was a kind of spiritual hard-headedness and stubbornness. And into this situation Jesus does the unthinkable, He goes around actually, physically healing the blind and the deaf to show that the Kingdom and power He is bringing extends fully into every realm of human experience, the spiritual, the emotional , and even the physical.
So what do you think the "the time of the Lord's favor has come" could mean? Jesus is doing something really radical here. He is telling people that He is bringing in THE era of God's special blessing and provision. All throughout time there were glimpses of a great time to come when God would do something really awesome in history. It was described as a new version of creation itself. It was described in terms of a return of the Davidic Kingdom, the time of the greatest power and extent of Israel's kingdom in their collective memory. It was seen as a time of worldwide peace and blessing, with a Great King to rule over the whole earth. It was even described as being timeless and never-ending, with no death or disease or lack of any kind. Jesus was doing no less than declaring that "this is that." "This thing I am bringing in is the absolute fulfillment of all those long awaited promises, and I am the King of that perfect Kingdom!"
And so you have to be asking yourself the $100,000 question, "what's this got to do with me?"
Smart question! You see, I think I may have a good way to understand the statement "As He is, so are we in this world." It comes from the hundreds of times I have poured over Isaiah 61. (I know, it's kind of an obsession.) There is an interesting progression that happens throughout the chapter.
First, there is the Spirit poured out on "Me", referring to the job description passage above. Then there are "those" and "them" and “they” who receive the ministry of the One on whom the Spirit is poured upon.
Is. 61:3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
Is. 61:4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall raise up the former desolations,
And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
And then there is "you." Who is the "you?" You got it! It's you, isn't it? Admit it, it's you!
Is. 61:6 But you shall be named the priests of the LORD,
They shall call you the servants of our God.
You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,
And in their glory you shall boast.
Is. 61:7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
So I see this cool "Me-them-you" transition that connects Jesus' mission with our individual purpose on this planet. In John 14:12 Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."
Greater works! Than Jesus! Who's up for that? Sign me up!
One more thing...I would like to see miracles, signs, and wonders, but a greater work for you might be that you finish that book you've been planning to write, or start that awesome small business you have all figured out in your head but are just afraid to start. Maybe you need to record all those songs you have stuck in the bottom of your guitar case. Resurrection power is available to you twenty four hours a day and seven days a week. Jesus walked on the water, and so can you, because, “As He is, so are we in this world.”
Kingdom Quotes - John Wimber
It bothers me that so much of the Church of Jesus Christ today is so ineffectual, in doing the deeds of Jesus. When He said, "greater works than these would the church do." It bothers me that we are so preoccupied with the word that we forgot the works. It bothers me that we are such good students that we forgot to graduate and go out and begin doing the things we have been studying about. It bothers me that the church is such a good audience that it has forgotten that its called to be an army. It bothers me - John Wimber
What In The World Is "Evangelical?"
In delving into the topics related to the Kingdom Triangle, I keep coming up against this strange word, "Evangelical." People use this word to describe certain kinds of Christians, and even some Christians are willing to self identify as "evangelical."
From Wiktionary: evangelicalism -
1. (Christianity) (historical) Lutheranism
2. (Christianity)Protestant movement basing its theology almost entirely on Scripture, which is held to be inerrant.
3. Christian fundamentalism.
So, there you have it. Reading between the lines we have this: "Evangelicals are those angry, cranky (dare I say it, probably white), fundamentalists, who have an old idea that there is some kind of a God, and they also believe that the books about Him and his Son are without error and not a cultural myth!" And since Wiktionary was being nice that day, I'll add what else they left out "- and are the people that refuse to see the light of modern evolutionary and biological truth, being also responsible for every form of evil on the planet." I also forgot to mention handling snakes, falling on the ground and shaking ecstatically, speaking in tongues in loud screams, and Robert Tilton!
Man, it's tough to be an evangelical!
Even those open minded people at the Religious Tolerance website (www.religioustolerance.org) can't figure out what an Evangelical is:
"Evangelical" was derived from the Greek word "euangelion" which means: "gospel" or "good news."
People in our office once believed that everyone has a favorite meaning for the term "evangelical." We also believed that there were many definitions in use that stressed various features of evangelicalism.
In the fall of 2008, we had a rude awakening. A public opinion poll by Ellison Research showed that 36% of American adults have no idea what the term "evangelical" means. 1,2 This includes:

- 32% of men;
- 39% of women;
- 46% (almost a majority) of those under 35 years-of-age;
- 27% of those who define themselves as conservative;
- 45% of self-defined moderates;
- 34% of self-defined liberals;
- 38% of Democrats;
- 37% of independents; and
- 29% of Republicans.
The poll showed that even 14% of people who call themselves evangelicals don't know how to define the term!
Is this funny or what?
So here is my definition of an Evangelical, and let's see if you agree:
Evangelical - one who as a Christian:
- believes the basic tenets of the traditional creeds and beliefs of the Christian faith;
- the truth, accuracy and historical veracity of the Scriptures, that is the Old and New Testaments;
- and seeks to live a life of faithful witness of these beliefs in word, thought and deed, seeking to share these beliefs with others for the benefit that they may also receive from a naturally supernatural life, both now and into eternity.

God Leads Praying Man To Find Missing Girl
New York (CNN) -- The man who rescued an 11-year-old girl lost in a dense Florida swamp said Wednesday that God led him directly to her, and that finding her was no surprise.
Did you see this story yesterday? A man went out in the swamp to help find a missing girl. He prayed to God and was lead directly to the place where she was.
I'm not going to pick on CNN for leaving out the fact that James King, the man who was lead by God to find the missing girl, said he was "praying in the Spirit," (i.e. tongues) as he searched for the girl. I'm not going to pick on them for only mentioning the spiritual nature of this situation and the word "God" only within quotes of the people speaking. I'm just glad they had this quote: ""Give the glory to God," Nadia's father, Jeff Bloom, told reporters after seeing his daughter Tuesday". And that's what I'll do. How about you?

The Fourth Turning
I, like many of you, am a student of life. I seek the truth. I like to call myself a "thinking conservative". I also believe that you can learn more from your enemies than your friends and often read books from a liberal perspective just to challenge myself. But a person should also look to mentors who have gone further than them in a good direction.
One of my mentors, whom I have never met, is Jim Puplava. He is a Catholic. But even more importantly he is a financial commentator who is a portal to me of truth. On his website are countless teachings that will begin to help people learn what is really going on in America and the world today. I am struck more by what the mainstream media is not telling us than what they actually say.
If you click the link above on the title Fourth Turning and view the video excerpt you will begin a journey to what is really going on.
Godspeed and blessing to your journey.

Born of Hope
A good friend and fellow contributor to the Kingdom Triangle asked me if I had seen the prequel to the Lord of the Rings on Utube called "Born of Hope". I could only reply "Huh?". It was created by Kate Madison through an independent film company. My wife and I sat with an adult beverage before our computer last night and watched it.
Amazing! Anyone who is a Tolkien fan or liked the Lord of the Rings or is looking for hope has got to see this 1 hour and 11 minute film. Following the story of Aragorn's father, Arathorn, it chronicles the history that led to Aragorn's birth. It has the same feel and spirit of Lord of the Rings.
I was really struck by how a person chooses over and over to have hope when times are very hard and there doesn't seem to be anything before you but danger, battle, death and trial. I loved the story of the Rangers, the Dunedain, whose purpose of protecting their people meant hardship but the joy of knowing they were making a difference. See this movie!

What Is The Kingdom Triangle?
Well, you're in it! You're surrounded by it. You're being constantly changed by it. The Kingdom of God, that is. Sound mysterious? The Kingdom Triangle is a phrase describing the three main thrusts of the Kingdom of God and was coined by the venerable and wise J.P. Moreland, professor, philosopher, writer and evangelist. He is well known for writing several books on Christianity and Philosophy, including The Kingdom Triangle, Scaling the Secular City, Does God Exist? and more.
"I want to foment a revolution of Evangelical life, spirituality, thought and Spirit-led power.
My purpose is to mobilize, inspire and instruct an army of men and women for a revolution
on behalf of the cause of Christ. The crisis of our age requires nothing less than a revolution
of those who live in, proclaim, and seek to advance the Kingdom that was not made with hands."
The three aspects of the Kingdom Triangle are:
- Renewing the Mind
- Reviving the Soul
- Restoring the Spirit's Power

Kingdom Quotes - John G. Lake
The great majority of the Christian world is still weeping at the foot of the cross. The consciousness of man is fixed on the Christ who died, not on the Christ who lives. They are looking back to the Redeemer who was, not the Redeemer who is.
Here's Your Chance To Check Out The Shroud Of Turin

Palm Goes Up For Sale - Say It Isn't So...
Palm, Inc. goes up for sale today. According to Bloomberg, "Palm, Inc., creator of the Pre smartphone, put itself up for sale and is seeking bids for the company as early as this week..."
It's really been a while since Palm has done much in the way of new or cutting edge design or functionality, and with the advent of the iPhone, and Blackberry and several other companies going into the smartphone market, Palm is yet another proof that no matter how well a company does, they still have to innovate and keep up with new challenges. Anybody in the market for an overpriced and fading smartphone company?
Of course, the person I feel most sorry for is the one that just bought a Palm device yesterday. "Doh! I have a $300.00 paperweight...awesome!"

Suggested Readings For Al Gore & Friends
An Excerpt From Perelandra, by C.S. Lewis
"That is the fundamental paradox. The thing we are reaching forward to is what you would call God. The reaching forward, the dynamism, is what people like you always call the Devil. The people like me, who do the reaching forward, are always martyrs. You revile us, and by us come to your goal."
"Does that mean in plainer language that the things the Force wants you to do are what ordinary people call diabolical?"
"My dear Ransom, I wish you would not keep relapsing on to the popular level. The two things are only moments in the single, unique reality. The world leaps forward through great men and greatness always transcends mere moralism. When the leap has been made our 'diabolism' as you would call it becomes the morality of the next stage; but while we are making it, we are called criminals, heretics, blasphemers...."
How far does it go? Would you still obey the Life-Force if you found it prompting you to kill me?"
"Yes."
"Or to sell England to the Germans?"
"Yes."
"Or to print lies as serious research in a scientific periodical?"
"Yes."
"God help you!" said Ransom.
"You are still wedded to your conventionalities," said Weston. Still dealing in abstractions. Can you not even conceive a total commitment - a commitment to something which utterly overrides all our petty ethical pigeon-holes?"
Ransom grasped at the straw. "Wait, Weston," he said abruptly. "That may be a point of contact. You say it's a total commitment. That is, you're giving up yourself. You're not out for your own advantage. No, wait half a second. This is the point of contact between your morality and mine. We both acknowledge--"
"Idiot,"said Weston. His voice was almost a howl and he had risen to his feet. "Idiot," he repeated. "Can you understand nothing? Will you always try to press everything back into the miserable framework your old jargon about self and self-sacrifice? That is the old accursed dualism in another form. There is no possible distinction in concrete thought between me and the universe. In so far as I am the conductor of the central forward pressure of the universe, I am it. Do you see, you timid, scruple-mongering fool? I am the Universe. I, Weston, am your God, and your Devil. I call that Force into me completely..."

That was pretty much it.
Kudos to Al Lewis, writing the other day in the Dow Jones Newswire. Lewis decided to cover a rally of Tea Party activists, who are traveling across the country from west to east. In Colorado the rally was at the state capitol in Denver.
Lewis came across two "skinny youths." One was holding up a pro-Obama sign, and the other a pro-Pelosi sign. Lewis decided to talk with them. Turns out they were students at the University of Denver, and they had been influenced by the media to believe that Tea Partyers were "nutcases." Instead, what they discovered was that these Tea Partyers were people who believe in freedom, liberty, and the "well-justified wariness we should all have of Big Government, irresponsible spending, and the crushing tax burdens that inevitably follow." Lewis continues: "It's also about the right to confront our often misguided and self-dealing leaders. And it honors individual rights of expression and dissent." In other words, they are all about the Constitution!
While he was talking to the young men, a state trooper "quite abruptly" asked them to move away from the Tea Partyers. The Tea Partyers yelled, "Free Speech," and defended the rights of the young men to wave their signs.
Later, Lewis asked the young men their names. One turned out to be the nephew of Colorado's Democrat governor. Lewis said, "so, let me get this straight. A Colorado state trooper, who works for your uncle, told you to get off the lawn of the building where your uncle works, because of the sign you were holding that supports your uncle's political party?"
The governor's nephew agreed "that was pretty much it."

It's Dejavu All Over Again
It was on a long drive home from being on the road when I said to a friend, who was excited about Hillary Clinton losing the nomination for the Democratic Presidential Ticket in 2008, "Mark my words, there will be a day when we will wish we had elected her, and not Barak Obama." There was a long silence of unbelief at me saying anything so unsettling, so heretical, so true. I rambled on, as in a trance of an oracle, and said, "I'm serious, if this guy gets in it will be like Jimmy Carter all over again, only worse. You wait, we'll have new versions of misery indexes, gas lines, economic and international instability. Every punk nation will do whatever they want with no fear of real reprisal, because of the lack of clarity and apparent incompetence of his leadership. And when the Congress and Senate figure out how truly incapable of leadership this guy is, they'll just sit on their hands while saying, "Go for it Mr. President! Go for it!" while packing their golden parachutes for a cushy landing in the consulting and lobbying "industry"."
As I came out this "trance" the radio announcer was declaring the news of a thousand point fall in the markets. And I said to myself, and my friend, "It's deja vu all over again."

Kingdom Triangle Network News Service Is Live!
After a meteorite hid me in the head a couple of days ago, I am launching this multi-blog/news and opinion site. It is obvious that many out there are not satisfied with the level of true objective information gathering available for those of a certain mindset, particularly that of the Christian and Conservative perspective. We will, hopefully, voice the concerns of those with a worldview decidedly rooted in the Kingdom of God. We will laugh at our excesses and absurd personalities and happily turn over the idols of our day. In our preparation for our launch we purchased the most expensive b-s-meter available and, once we figure out how it hooks up to the internet, we are good to go! So, look out world, here we are!
