The skies are cloudy today, and thunderstorms are in the forecast. The first sentence of the
Declaration of Independence refers to the "Laws of "Nature and Nature's God." If there is thunder and lightning tonight, we will see how the Laws of Nature and Nature's God dwarf the best fireworks displays mankind can muster.
Thanks for link to the Declaration of Independence. I read through the whole thing again, and was deeply moved. One of the last phrases stuck out to me: "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor." May God remember our former trust and reliance on Him, and may we once again have the character strength to pledge our "lives, fortunes, and sacred honor."
